After weeks in which in seemed that the trend of smuggling immigrants from China in cargo ship containers was disappearing, a group of 15 immigrants were found in a container on a ship from Hong Kong in the Port of Los Angeles. The immigrants were in relatively good health considering their two-week trip across the ocean. This latest discovery brings the total of Chinese immigrants discovered at west coast ports this year to over 120.

Arizona ranchers Don and Roger Barrett last week turned 16 undocumented migrants over to the Border Patrol. According to the ranchers, they did not stop the migrants; rather, the migrants willingly stopped and gave them the keys to the vehicle. The Mexican consul in Douglas, Arizona, however, said the migrants had a different story. They claim the Barrett's forced them off the road, and that they were armed when they approached the migrants. This is just the latest of similar actions by the Barretts.

An undocumented immigrant who was seriously injured in a car wreck has died at a hospital in Atlanta. The wreck, which happened one year ago, left Saul Diaz with a hole in his abdomen through which his intestines were exposed. Despite his serious injury, the INS attempted to deport him last February.

Seventeen members of a troupe of dancers from Senegal disappeared after giving a performance in the San Francisco area. As of now, none of them has been heard from, and none has applied for asylum.
