The number of undocumented immigrants apprehended on Oklahoma roads continues to remain high. This past week three stops in three days just outside of Oklahoma City resulted in the discovery of 23 migrants. Each stop was prompted by routine traffic violations. Police officers in the state believe that the area is well-traveled by undocumented immigrants seeking work in the southeastern US. ********* A smuggling ring based in a town outside of San Diego, California was largely dissolved when INS agents arrested six people suspected of being smugglers, as well as 56 undocumented immigrants. According to an INS spokesperson, two small children and two teenagers were among those discovered in two apartments. The conditions in the apartments were squalid. Migrants paid ,200 to be smuggled into the US, and a day to stay in the apartments before being smuggled to jobs located in the interior.
