She can be reached at 212-932-8020. ********** The Justice Department has submitted to Congress a proposed revision of the Coordinated Interagency Partnership Regulating International Students (CIPRIS) fee legislation. This fee was to be implemented last year, but opposition from colleges and universities led to its delay. Under the new proposal, the fee would be collected by the Attorney General rather than by the school. It would be paid prior to obtaining the student visa, and the student must present evidence of payment before obtaining a student visa. ********** The Supreme Court this week refused to hear the appeal of Anton Tittjung, who faces deportation for participation in Nazi activities during World War Two. Tittjung served as a concentration camp guard at Mauthausen, something he hid both when he immigrated to the US and when he applied for citizenship.
