INS EXPANDS SERVICES AVAILABLE THROUGH TOLL FREE NUMBER
The INS is expanding the services provided by its National Customer Service Center, available at 1-800-375-5283. Additions were made to the automated information menu, and now include more information about local offices, including procedures unique to the office. Efforts are also being made to improving customer service. The INS hopes to have a hold time of only 15 seconds before a person is transferred to a customer service representative. As part of its effort to do this, the agency will be conducting customer surveys, and will hold periodic focus groups. The agency hopes to develop this service to the point where people will no longer have to go to the INS for anything other than receiving documents, and other things that must be done in person.  |
