In an unusual decision, last week the Board of Immigration Appeals reversed an order deporting a man to Haiti.  Peterson Polidor had been ordered deported because of a burglary conviction.  Polidor had widespread community support in his effort to avoid deportation to a country where he had not lived since age 11, and where he no longer had any family.

This week in Los Angeles, police discovered 74 undocumented immigrants being held in a drop house.  Police say the immigrants were being held by smugglers waiting for family members to pay a ransom, in addition to the fee they already obtained to smuggle the people into the US, as much as 00.
