Canada on the Lookout For Terror Suspects
US authorities have notified Canadian border officials to be on alert for dozens of Arab men suspected of having ties to terrorist groups, more specifically al-Qaida. US authorities notified Canadian officials after the men failed to show up for deportation. The suspects are believed to have entered the US on student or tourist visas from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Syria, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Algeria, Egypt and Sudan. Each man is also believed to have family in Canada or some other tie to the country. Canadian officials say that they regularly receive warnings from US authorities and they are working in cooperation to ensure the fugitives do not slip into Canada unnoticed.

Indonesia Threatens Boycott of National Airline Over Price Increase Targeting Migrants
The minister of manpower in Indonesia has threatened to call for a boycott of Garuda Indonesia, the national airline, over a 0 fare increase for workers going to Saudi Arabia. Indonesia has millions of workers overseas. However, this fare increase targets workers doing mostly menial jobs in Saudi Arabia. The government believes Garuda has no need for a fare increase as it already enjoys significant profits from taxiing 13, 000 – 15, 000 workers overseas each month.

Italy Stops Ship Carrying More than 100 Immigrants
Italian authorities have stopped a ship attempting to smuggle more than 100 Sri Lankans into Italy. The shipped was spotted near Calabria and escorted to a port in Crotone. Two men, believed to be smugglers were taken into custody, while the group of Sri Lankans await likely deportation.

Hong Kong – Hungary Agree to No-Visa Deal
Hong Kong and Hungary have reached an agreement on the Abolition of Visa Requirements. The two countries have agreed to allow each other’s nationals a 90 day entry period with no visa required.
