U.S. immigration
and Customs Enforcement agents last week arrested 48 undocumented immigrants in
an investigation targeting unauthorized contract workers at the Seymour Johnson
Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC, according to the Washington Times.
Those arrested included laborers and carpenters who worked on the base
but did not have access to military files.
The arrests were made after authorities became aware that contract
workers had entered the base under false pretenses.
Those arrested
are scheduled to appear before a US District Court judge.
In the meantime, they are being held at the Johnston County Jail.
