A panel of commissioners from 16 German states said during a conference that Imams who are trained abroad but working in Germany should be required to attend integration courses designed specifically for foreigners, Expatica News reported. The panel suggested that even if Imams had no intention of remaining permanently in Germany , they should still undergo the courses, which aim to assist foreigners with German language and customs.
There are some 800 imams of Turkish origin in Germany , ministering to around 3 million Muslims in a population of 82 million. Most of the imams remain in Germany for around four years.
The September 4 arrests of three suspected Islamist terrorists - two German converts to Islam and a Turk - has revived the long- running debate in Germany on integrating the large Muslim minority, most of them Turkish. The suspects are alleged to have planned bombing attacks on US citizens in Germany that would have dwarfed the London and Madrid attacks.

The United Kingdom has announced that next month, its government will publish its first official analysis of the impact of migration, according to The Guardian. Migration Impacts Forum, the delegated organization in charge of the study, will focus how migration changes the public services and way of life in the country. It will also cover the impact of the current restrictions on the migration of Romanians and Bulgarians.
Eastern England has become the leading destination for new migrants in EU nations; half of the 83,000 who have registered to work in the region within the year have settled in Cambridgeshire, a burgeoning economic area of the UK. The reports shows that Cambridgeshire's population is expected to see a 12.5% increase by 2016.
The findings from the group assessing the social impact of migration are expected to influence this autumn's local government spending round and the operation, from April, of an Australian-style points-based immigration system.
