LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
There are no major advances to report with regard to the major immigration bills working their way through Congress. Currently, there is a great deal of lobbying in the US House of Representatives over the Smith Bill (formally H.R. 1915, now renamed H.R. 2202). A summary of several of the important provisions contained in H.R. 2202 was provided in last month's issue of Siskind's Immigration Bulletin. The House Judiciary Committee will debate the bill in late September. 
In connection with H.R. 2202, the Siskind and Susser has made several important documents available at its web page (http://www.visalaw.com/~gsiskind/). We are now including the entire text of H.R. 2202 at our site. We are also including sample letters to Congress for persons who have received both family and business visas. Email links to members of Congress are also available at our web site. Readers of this newsletter are strongly urged to lobby their members of Congress.
