STATE DEPARTMENT REVOKES INDEFINITE VALIDITY B VISAS
As of February 1, 1995, the State Department has revoked the validity of all indefinite B-1, B-2 and B-1/B-2 visas issued on or before February 1, 1985. All indefinite B-1, B-2 and B-1/B-2 visas issued after February 1, 1985 will expire on the tenth anniversary of their date of issuance. Persons seeking to reenter the US on a revoked visa will be granted a single admission if the individual is otherwise qualified for the visa. At that point, the INS Point of Entry official will cancel the visa. Cancelled visa holders will be notified that they must obtain a new nonimmigrant visa in order to enter the country again. Cancellation of the visa should not affect future eligibility for a visa. |
