INS RELEASES FY1995 H-1B AND H-2B STATISTICS
Statistics for Fiscal Year 1995 indicate a big drop in the number of H-1B visas issued as well continued under-utilization of the H-2B category. According to the INS' Nonimmigrant Branch Chief, Yvonne LaFleur, only 54,718 of the 65,000 available H-1B visas were used. In Fiscal Year 1994, nearly all of the H-1B visas were used. Only 2,398 H-2B visas were used in Fiscal Year 1995.
