NEW GREEN CARD LOTTERY RULES ANNOUNCED
On November 18th, the Department of State released rules for the DV-98 green card lottery. The entry period will begin on 3 February 1997 and end on 5 March 1997. Winners will be eligible to immigrate in the fiscal year which runs from 1 October 1997 to 30 September 1998. In a special issue of Siskind's Immigration Bulletin released last month, we reported on all of the rules for the next lottery. We have posted all the information most people should need to enter themselves in the lottery at our web site (www.visalaw.com). We have also posted a form on our web site for those persons who wish to have Siskind, Susser, Haas & Chang enter them in the lottery. It is the position of our firm that most people are capable of entering themselves without legal assistance. Our form is targeted at those who are uncomfortable with their understanding of the rules or those who wish to use our firm's return address if they do not trust the mail service in their home country or are not sure where they will be located next year.
