STATE DEPARTMENT SUSPENDS VISA PROCESSING IN LIBERIA
The State Department has issued a cable regarding the suspension of visa services at the US consulate in Monrovia, Liberia. The brief cable reads as follows:
"Sporadic fighting and unsettled conditions continue in many areas of Liberia, including Monrovia. While the US Embassy remains open, visa services ceased on April 5, 1996. At this time it is impossible to predict when Embassy Monrovia will be able to resume routing visa processing."
