* Non-Immigrant Visas

General questions about the non-immigrant visa process are taken via telephone M - F from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

More detailed quetions and specific case inquiries should be faxed to the consulate. Telephone the next day to check on your inquiry.

Citizens and permanent residents of Chile are eligible to send in their applications through travel agencies.

Consular is open for walk-in interviews or general questions M - F = from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Travel agents only may submit visa applications between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Applicants should bring the equivalent of 20 U.S. dollars in local currency to pay for the machine readable visa application fee.

If you have had previous visas or made previous trips to the U.S., you should also submit your previous passports indicating such.

Walk-in visa applicants can pick-up passports with visas the following business day between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Those who submit applications through a travel agency should be retrieved by the travel agency in three business days.

* Immigrant Visas

Telephone calls are accepted M - F from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Consular is open for general walk-ins Tuesdays & Fridays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Adoption cased are attended on a walk-in basis in the morning from = Monday to Friday.

Applications are heard on a first come first srve basis and numbers = are issued to applicant's to enable the consular staff to call people in = the order of arrival.

U.S. citizens sumiting petitions for spouses may do so on a walk-in basis Tuesdays and Fridays, from 09:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. An original marriage certificate is required. The "libreta" or marriage book is not accepted as proof of marriage.
