OFFICIALS REPORT DEPORTATIONS, ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION NUMBERS SOAR
Attorney General Janet Reno announced late last month that more than 110,000 criminals and other illegal aliens were deported in the fiscal year that ended September 30th. An additional 90,000 illegal aliens were sent back without formal proceedings. 
The same week, INS Commissioner Doris Meissner announced that the size of the total illegal immigrant population in the US is increasing by 275,000 per year. The rate of growth, however, is declining, according to Meissner, largely due to increased border and employer enforcement. < Back | Next >
