Non-Immigrant Visas:

Applications are accepted from 8:00 am to 10:00 am Monday through Friday. Visas may normally be picked up between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm on the same day the application is submitted. The following documents must be submitted with all non-immigrant visa applications:

- valid passport (persons not holding Portuguese citizenship should submit a Portuguese residency card along with their passport)

- color photo of passport size (37 mm x 37 mm). There is a photo machine in the Consulate. Photos cost PE600$00, payable in PE100$00 and PE200$00 coins.

- visa fee of PE3500$00. Deposit the fee in the American Embassy bank account at any Banco Portugues do Atlantico (BPA) bank before applying for the non-immigrant visa at the Consulate and keep your deposit receipt as proof of payment to submit with your application. There is a branch of the bank about one kilometer east of the Embassy at Avenida das Forcas Armadas, 95-B. All of the bank branches are open daily from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

- Form OF-156 Non-Immigrant Visa Application

Certain types of non-immigrant visa applications have additional document requirements including documents to demonstrate ties to Portugal.

Non-immigrant visas may be submitted in person at the consulate, through a travel agent or by mail. Travel agents are normally used for B visa applications and the consulate recommends allowing three working days for visa issuance. Only B visa applicants may be submitted by mail. Allow three weeks for issuance. As is the case for in person application submissions, travel agent and mailed applications may still be subject to an interview requirement.
