NEW PLAN INTRODUCED TO IMPROVE RELATIONS BETWEEN CONGRESSIONAL OFFICES AND INS Just days after the November elections, INS congressional relations staff members and officers of the INS met to discuss ways they can increase and improve the connection between Congress and the INS. The conference focused on the special role of congressional relations staff, noting that they are the Congressperson's primary and often only source of information on immigration issues. The conference presented a detailed strategic plan for developing better congressional relations. The plan focuses on increasing responsiveness between Congress and the INS and improving communications between the groups.
