ACCUSED TERRORIST ORDERED DEPORTED

A Saudi Arabian linked to the 1996 bombing of a US army barracks in Saudi Arabia has been ordered deported. But while Hani al-Sayegh has been ordered deported, it is not yet clear to which country he will be deported. The deportation was approved even though the Justice Department has had to drop criminal charges of conspiracy to murder and international terrorism (both unrelated to the bombing) due to a lack of evidence. Al-Sayegh earlier agreed to admit his guilt to plotting two other bombings in 1994 and 1995 but backed later backed out of the agreement.

Al-Sayegh was previously deported from Canada to the US. The government of Saudi Arabia at that time sought and today continues to seek al-Sayegh's extradition.
