**The Midwest Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC), a division of Travelers and Immigrant Aid/Chicago Connections, Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a Managing Attorney for its immigrant legal services program. Experience in immigration law is required, and experience in the supervision of attorney and paralegals in an immigration law setting preferred. Candidates should be admitted to the bar, have excellent writing, editing and speaking skills, be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and be able to speak and write Spanish fluently. The attorney in this position would have the following responsibilities:
--Supervise the work of attorneys and accredited representatives providing direct services in MIRC's 2 Chicago offices;
--Manage a high-volume program providing legal services for low-income immigrants;
--Oversee special immigration projects in detention, domestic violence, education, visa processing, naturalization and deportation defense;
--Occasional fundraising activities.

**The Washington Alliance for Immigrant and Refugee Justice (WAIRJ) is a non-profit, statewide alliance of organizations and individuals committed to advancing the civil and human rights of immigrants and refugees. It engages in community education and organizing, policy development and monitoring, and information sharing. WAIRJ has two offices, one in Seattle and one in Granger, Washington.
WAIRJ is offering the position of the Eastern WA Projects Coordinator, a full-time, permanent position based in Central Washington to carry out WAIRJ program goals in Central and Eastern Washington. The salary range for the position is between $32,000 and $37,000 DOE plus benefits. The position will remain open until it's filled.
The person in this position will have the following responsibilities:
--Working with the Director, staff and membership to develop and carry out WAIRJ policy goals in Central and Eastern WA through education and grassroots organizing in immigrant and refugee communities.
--Developing relationships with immigrant and refugee activists and community groups in Central and Eastern WA to keep abreast of their concerns.
--Monitoring legislation and writing media and community education materials on immigration-related housing and employment issues.
--Assisting raids resistance project coordinator in conducting outreach, media advocacy, and public-policy work to resist civil and human rights abuses during immigration law enforcement activity.
--Participating in relevant conference calls, meetings, and conferences.
--Administrative duties, as required.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
--Knowledge of immigration-related laws and policy trends, including welfare "reform."
--Demonstrated commitment to immigrant and refugee justice, and an understanding of its connections to broader social and economic justice issues.
--Five years or more of community organizing skills and experience, particularly in ethnically and linguistically diverse communities.
--Strong knowledge and understanding of local, state and federal legislative and political processes - some experience with political analysis preferred.
--Experience working with the media, and strong oral and written communication skills.
--Organized and computer proficient.
--Self-directed and able to work cooperatively with others.
--Ability to handle multiple projects and to work well under pressure.
--Bilingual in Spanish and English.
