The Consulate accepts applications for nonimmigrant visas from Cypriot citizens on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 am to 11 am. Applications from non-Cypriots are accepted from 8 am to 10 am.
Interviews for immigrant visas are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings by appointment only. I-130 (Immigrant Visa) petitions can be filed on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon without an appointment. The Consulate will accept I-130 petitions only from American citizens residing in Cyprus.
The Consulate will accept, on a discretionary basis, I-130 petitions from American citizens who are physically present in Cyprus and filing for Immediate Relatives (spouse, child, parent) who are citizens of Cyprus, Lebanon or Iran. The beneficiary of the petition must be physically present in Cyprus. The Consulate will also adjudicate I-130s and in the recent past, it has handled Iranian immigrant cases processes very quickly (sometimes in a matter of weeks).
There is a processing time of approximately four weeks between the date the I-130 petition is filed for an Immediate Relative (spouse, parent, child) and the date of the visa interview. I-130s filed by U.S. citizens on behalf of adult children and siblings will not be scheduled for interview until the case's priority date is reached and authorization is received from Washington. Telephone calls regarding visa matters are accepted from 8 am to 9 am and 2 pm to 4 pm Monday through Friday.
The Embassy maintains an office in north Cyprus at #6 Saran St. Lefkosa (Nicosia), telephone number 90-392-225-2440 (or 441). The office provides both immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services for individuals in the area north of the United Nations Protected Area (Buffer Zone).
