NCSBN Approves Compact Nurse Licensure for APRNs
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has approved a compact nurse licensure for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) that is similar to the compact RN licensure.
Compact licensure allows nurses licensed in any state which is a compact state to practice in any other compact state without having to obtain a state license first. It was created in order to increase access to qualified nurses. 18 states are already part of the compact system. In order to be eligible, the nurses must pass the RN/LPN compact test.
