Only one temporary permit may be issued to an applicant for no more than 60 days, and the applicant must be under the supervision of a licensed therapist.

Must pass a written examination approved by the board

Must complete supervised fieldwork experience arranged by a recognized educational institution where the applicant met the academic requirements or by the American Occupational Therapy Association.  A minimum of 6 months of fieldwork is required for an OT and 2 months is required for an OT assistant.

 

Foreign-trained occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants must furnish proof of good moral character and shall present proof indicating completion of the educational requirements, which must be substantially equal to those of Kentucky before the exam is administered.
