Four major immigration programs expire tomorrow at midnight – EB-5 regional centers, certain religious workers, the Conrad 30 J-1 waiver and the E-Verify program. The main fighting over extending the programs has involved the EB-5 regional centers, but it now appears that a deal has been reached to extend all four programs without change until December, during the lame-duck session of Congress after the presidential election. The programs will be extended via the continuing resolution Congress needs to pass to keep the government operating past tomorrow night. I am hearing reports of both December 6th and December 9th as the extension date and will update this post when I can confirm which date.
