Nashville-based immigration firm Siskind & Susser has added six new offices in the United States and Canada and changed its name to Siskind, Susser, Haas & Chang - primarily as a result of marketing through the Internet, according to founding partner Greg Siskind.

The firm, founded by Siskind as a solo practice in 1994, has opened an office in Toronto, making it the first Tennessee-based law firm to open a foreign office.

Other new offices added by the firm, primarily through acquisition of existing practices, are located in Knoxville; Newport Beach, Calif.; Monterey, Calif.; Woodbridge, N.J.; and New YorkCity. A Memphis office was established in 1995.

Siskind has been marketing his immigration practice on the Internees World Wide Web since June 1994. According to a press release, the Web site (http://www.visalaw.com) averages 50,000 "hits" or visits each week and has received more than 3 million hits since it was first established.

Siskind, Susser, Haas & Chang's Web site was recently ranked by the National Law Journal as the fourth best law-related Web site in the country.

With Tim Moses, a founder of the Nashville-based Internet service provider Telalink, Siskind authored a book titled TheLawyer's Guide to Marketing on the Internet, which was published by the American Bar Association Section of Law Practice Management.

The book is designed to help attorneys get started in on-line marketing. It explains how to build a home page and how to evaluate the effectiveness of various types of Internet marketing. It even discusses Internet etiquette, security issues and ethics.
