Not that there is much nursing immigration happening these days, but the severe nursing shortage of recent years has largely disappeared as a result of high unemployment generally. Many nurses who left the field have reentered and many others are staying in who might otherwise leave if jobs in other fields were readily available. And many are not retiring as early because the money is needed in their families.
