Dear Readers:

It has been a tumultuous week in immigration law and lawyers like those at our firm have been scrambling to help clients caught in the travel ban and those needing information on how they are impacted. In this issue, we’re passing on the latest information we have. However, if you think you may be affected, you need to check with your lawyer and not rely on this to be current. The agencies seem to be changing rules on an hourly basis and there is great confusion.

Even if we did not have the executive orders, there was a lot of immigration news over the last month. President Obama scrapped the Cuban “wet foot/dry foot” category. And we got the final entrepreneur parole rule. We also got a new President who has appointed new Cabinet officials that cover immigration.

In firm news, I want to congratulate my law partner Lynn Susser for being named a finalist for the Memphis Bar Journal’s Best of the Bar Award for being one of the top lawyers in the city.

As always, we invite you to contact us if our firm can be of assistance. Please visit our web page at www.visalaw.com for information on reaching the firm or scheduling a consultation.

Regards,

Greg Siskind
