The Salt Lake Tribute reported last week that Utah Rep. Chris Cannon defeated challenger Matt Throckmorton in the 3^rd U.S. Congressional District Republican primary.  Throckmorton had heavily criticized Cannon’s support of a bill that would grant temporary “guest worker” status to certain groups of foreign agricultural workers.  Throckmorton garnered the support of several groups that seek to restrict immigration.  One of those groups, ProjectUSA, had threatened to challenge the primary votes of some foreign-born residents.
