While yesterday was to be the day by which schools were to be in compliance with the new Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, problems are already plaguing the system, leading the INS to push the compliance date back to February 15. Many schools which have submitted requests to be allowed to use the system are still waiting to hear back from the INS, and those that do have access to the system say that it is so full of problems that it is unusable.
