Protima Daryanani is the Managing Partner of the New York office of Siskind Susser Bland. Protima concentrates her practice in representing multinational individual and corporate clients in various fields including fashion, architecture, design, arts and entertainment. She oversees the filing of all non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and develops individual case strategy with individual clients, senior management, and human resource staff. She also provides assistance in policy development and its consistent legal application.
Protima joined Eric M Bland P.C. in 2001 and most recently became a Partner of Siskind Susser Bland, P.C. Prior to these positions, Protima was an associate attorney for Avirom & Associates in New York City . Here, Protima had a published opinion for Zgombic v. Farquaharson (U.S. District of Connecticut).
Protima received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta in 1996. At Emory, she was on the law school’s International Law Review. Protima graduated from Brown University in 1992 with a double major in Political Science and Comparative Literature. She has been admitted to the State Bar of New York and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. As an expert in immigration for the arts and entertainment communities, Protima is frequently asked to speak on immigration law panels, most recently for the American Bar Association and New York City Bar Association.
Born in Lagos , Nigeria , Protima moved to London in 1978. In 1988 she moved to the United States for college. She is proficient in French and Italian and has a cursory understanding of Spanish, Hindi and Sindhi.
