U.S. Border Patrol agents in El Paso, Texas, have arrested Mexican pop singer Kalimba on alleged immigration violations.

Border Patrol spokesman Ramiro Cordero confirmed the arrest of the former OV7 star on Thursday.

No further details were given on the case. But Mexican news agency Notimex was reporting that Kalimba entered the U.S. legally but failed to turn in his I-94 immigration paperwork, when gives foreigners permission to enter the states.

A judge in Mexico’s Caribbean state of Quintana Roo issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for Kalimba, 28, whose real name is Kalimba Kadjaly Marichal Ibar, according to State Attorney General Francisco Alor.
