Dear Readers:
March has been a busy month for immigration lawyers across the US and Siskind, Susser, Haas & Chang is no exception. Most of us were taken by surprise when rumors of mass deportations surrounding the April 1st implementation of certain sections of the 1996 Immigration Act led thousands to panic and swarm the INS with immigration applications. In this month’s issue, we will attempt to separate fact from fiction. Readers will also notice that this month’s issue is one of our largest ever. There are a number of new rules that were released in recent weeks and we have attempted to cover the important ones. We also include our regular features including a Visa Spotlight covering Extraordinary Ability Permanent Residency Applications, Consular Focus: London, England, From Our Canada Office, Immigration and the Web and agency processing times.
On our web site, we have also added several new links on our immigration links page as well as two new documents to our Documents Collection. At www.visalaw.com/docs, readers will find the new USIA Exchange Visitor Skills List and the INS’ nationwide list of approved doctors.
