This week President Bush signed H.R. 1209, the Child Status Protection Act. This law provides relief to many children who would otherwise “age-out,” that is, turn 21 and no longer be eligible for immigration to the US through their parents. We covered the law in depth a few weeks ago, and this article is available at http://visalaw.wpengine.com/02jul4/12jul402.html.

S. 2845, introduced by Sen. John Corzine (D-NJ), would extend for one year the period that nonimmigrant dependents of victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks may legally remain in the US, until September 10th, 2003.
