As we go to publication, our 11 lawyers are preparing to attend the annual American Immigration Lawyers Association meeting which will be held in mid-June in Orlando. This year promises to be a most important meeting largely as a result of the passage of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (“IIRAIRA 96”). The new law be discussed in considerable depth and representatives from various government agencies will be on hand to ask questions of the conference attendees.

If you have not been to our web site lately, you might notice a few useful additions. In addition to the forms library we launched in April, we now have posted a number of other items in our Document collection including the full list of INS approved physicians, the new USIA skills list and the complete list of Health Professional Shortage Areas. We are now including items in the document collection in our site’s index.

This month’s issue is one of our largest ever. We are including the usual features such as processing times, Consular Focus, and Visa Spotlight as well as expanded coverage of immigration news. Your comments on our coverage are always welcome.
