Nonimmigrant Visas: For Non-Turkish nationals, interviews are scheduled mornings, Monday through Thursday (however, Iranians are scheduled on the day they apply). For Turkish nationals, interviews are scheduled on Friday mornings only. Visas are issued the morning after the interview. The procedures for refiling when an application are denied are liberal. There is no limit on the number of times a person may reapply and there is no waiting period to reapply. Most Turkish applicants and all non-Turkish applicants are required to be interviewed. The vast majority of Turkish applicants are approved, but less than half for Iranians. Applicants who have previously been denied a nonimmigrant visa at another consulate may face some problems.
Immigrant Visas: Interviews are scheduled in the afternoons. The original versions of all documents must be presented at the time of the interview. Turkish applicants should be sure to bring their Vukuatli Nufus Kayit Ornegi Birth Certificate issued by the Turkish Birth Registry Office. The processing time from the receipt of Packet 3 until an interview is scheduled is about six weeks.
