News station WALB reports that more hispanic students are attending colleges in Georgia, than ever before. Many of them are first generation college students. Hispanics made up four-percent of the state’s graduates in 2005, but that number is expected to jump to 24% in 2022. Some colleges are trying to bridge the cultural gap with the students’ families by visiting them at home and having additional orientation days. Education is really critical to overcome poverty.
