Anybody who watched Glee will recognize 33-year-old actor, Harry Shum Jr. He played Mike Chang on the hit television show, and has been featured in many other films such as Stomp the Yard, Step Up 2, and Step Up 3. With Immigrant Heritage month going on right now in June, Harry has participated in a celebrity immigrant social media campaign with others including Lupita Nyong, Wilmer Valderrama, and Rosario Dawson.

Harry was born in Puerto Limón, Costa Rica to Chinese immigrant parents, and moved to the United States when he was 6. Harry took dance classes in Costa Rica, and continued when he came to the United States. Before making his way to Glee in 2009, he danced for many stars including Madonna, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, and more.

In 2015, Harry was the star of an Immigrant Heritage Month video presented by Welcome.us about his family heritage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezyAodOMq48 Harry is a great example of a proud immigrant celebrity who has worked hard and excelled in both dancing and acting. Cannot wait to see more dance moves from him in the future!
