British-born Martin Indyk has a long and distinguished history serving as an American ambassador (twice to Israel), as a professor and more recently, as the Vice President and Director for Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institute in Washington. In 2013, President Obama appointed him as a special envoy to oversee the resumption of Israel-Palestinian peace. It’s a testament to his reputation for fairness that both Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel and Palestinian President Abbas both supported his appointment. Ambassador Indyk is also the author of two books including a recent one on President Obama’s foreign policy.
