Right up there with Flo from Progressive and Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Man in the World, there’s Lily, the AT&T hostess with the mostest. Her name is actually Milana Vayntrub and the actress came to the US as a young child as a Jewish refugee from Uzbekistan. She’s got a comedy background and has been a troupe member in the improv group The Upright Citizens Brigade (which counts Saturday Night Live veterans Amy Poehler and Horatio Sanz in their alumni).

Milana’s making a name for herself not just in acting, but also for her humanitarian work on behalf of Syrian refugees. She recently released a short documentary about how she accidentally began working on the issue during a vacation in Greece and now has started a the web site http://cantdonothing.org/ to raise awareness about the plight of refugees in the region. She’s planning an upcoming trip to a refugee camp in Jordan as she continues her advocacy on this important issue.
