Emily is an attorney in the Memphis office of Siskind Susser, where her practice is focused primarily on physician immigration. She also handles cases for academics and researchers, as well as individuals in the sports, entertainment, and art industries. Meghan’s expertise encompasses a wide range of immigration matters, including J-1 waivers, H-1Bs, O-1s, P-1Bs, EB-1 extraordinary ability petitions, national interest waivers, PERM labor certification based green cards, naturalization applications, as well as a variety of other business and family immigration processes.
Prior to Siskind Susser, Emily was an attorney at Latino Memphis, a holistic services nonprofit that services immigrant communities across Tennessee and parts of Mississippi and Arkansas. While there she specialized in family and humanitarian immigration work. Emily started her legal career at the New York City office of Clyde & Co, an international insurance litigation firm.
Emily received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from The Pennsylvania State University. During her time at Penn State, Emily was a member of Global Brigades-Human Rights, a producer of a student-run television show, and a conversation partner with international students. In 2015 she won the Kathleen and John Collins Oral Advocacy Award. Emily currently serves on The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications Alumni Society Board.
Before law school, Emily was a member of Teach For America. She taught English as a Second Language for three years in Memphis, TN. Emily continues her connection with Teach For America Memphis as a member of the Teach For America Alumni Advisory Board.
Emily earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Fordham University School of Law. As a law student, she was a staff member of the Fordham Law International Law Journal and Fordham Law Journal on Voting Rights and Democracy, a member of the Board of Student Advisors, a Fordham LL.M. Buddy, a Fordham Law Admissions Ambassador and Captain of the Fordham Law Softball team.
Emily also participated in Fordham’s Mediation Clinic in which she acted as a mediator for the Small Claims Court of New York. She also holds a Master’s in International and European Business Law from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas de Madrid, Spain.
Emily is an avid reader and coffee lover. She loves hiking, camping and kayaking. También, ella está aprendiendo español.
