The White House trying to find ways to provide relief to millions of immigrants through executive tools at its disposal. So why is the Obama Administration so stingy when it comes to granting Temporary Protected Status to citizens of countries clearly meriting the relief. The latest example is Nepal. Thousands are dead from the earthquake that hit that country several days ago and the country is clearly a mess. TPS should be a no brainer. Yet when USCIS announced immigration relief for Nepalese, they were pretty scrimpy. This was the same story for Yemen, a country that is in the middle of a revolution, and in recent months Ukraine and Venezuela. And TPS would certainly have been justified for many of the children fleeing drug violence in Central America.
