USCIS will begin accepting applications for the expanded DACA program on February 18, 2015. DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) grants deportation deferrals and work authorization to qualifying applicants who entered the U.S. before the age of 16. President Obama’s executive action on immigration extended the DACA benefit period from two years to three years and expanded the program to include applicants of any age who meet all other DACA guidelines. To be considered for the expanded DACA program, applicants must have lived continuously in the U.S. since at least January 1, 2010. No expanded DACA applications will be accepted before February 18, 2015.
